STILL LIFE

I think of these paintings as still lifes even though the subject matter is from urban landscape.

These still lifes have a textured background and the objects are painted on smooth plaster. Often the shadow under the objects in emphasized by the physical line between the object and the ground. The stories they tell are suggested by the relationships of the objects.

These still lifes are also highly textured and very smooth. The objects were gathered from the mountain fire lookout and surrounding area that I worked at from 2016-19.
